Learning how to be green can be intuitive in some ways, but in others it can be difficult. I just don’t think we always realize how our everyday actions have an impact on our future or our children’s future. I also find that others think of things I just haven’t even imagined. Looking online and in books I’ve found so much inspiration from others on how to be ‘green’ in a practical way.
One book that has provided me an unimaginable amount of helpful hints and ideas is "Gorgeously Green." Without using scare tactics or focusing on more expensive alternatives, Sophie Uliano provides some great ideas on how to live an ‘earth-friendly life.’ I definitely learned more than a few things from this book and I already refer often back to it for guidance on things like exercise and beauty products. Before reading it, I never really thought of the energy that is involved in exercising on machines or in gyms. Not only does she mention running or walking outside, but also provides yoga and strength training routines. In a section on beauty products and the unhealthy ingredients in many popular brand names, Uliano provides a few recipes for ‘at home’ beauty treatments. While I may not be able to go totally ‘green’ right now, I love that there is something new everyday that I can do and this book is helping me to discover those things.

What is your ‘green’ Bible and where do you find information on how to be ‘green?’
